According to 9to5Google, the upcoming OS will start blocking apps designed to run on older versions of Android. At the same time, the search giant already wants at least Android 12 support for apps published on the Google Play Store.
But with the release of the latest version of the “green robot”, users will be faced with a situation where they will not be able to even install the APK of the software that does not meet these Google requirements.
It is reported that in Android Marshmallow, the threshold will be set initially, but it will increase constantly. Some experts believe this decision is a step in the right direction, as malware-infected apps will no longer be able to exploit the vulnerability in older versions of Android.
