Indian companies lay claim to the clothing market in Russia

The company does not have its own retail network, it provides production facilities for tailoring collections for foreign brands Maje, Monoprix, Urban Outfitters. Northern India Trends develops its own collections in collaboration with European designers, Kommersant learns.

Experts doubt that the company will immediately deploy outlets. An alternative line of business in the country for Indian companies may be order seeking for Russian branded garments.

Since February 24, 2022, H&M, Adidas, Nike, Vans, Zara, Oysho, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutt and others have abandoned or suspended cooperation on the Russian market. After that, Indian brands began to show interest in Russia. . Before the geopolitical crisis, this India practically did not export clothes to Russia, and Indian retailers were not represented in the Russian Federation.
