Exports of laptops and smartphones from strange devices in the CIS increased sharply from March to November 2022. This is stated in a study by Euromonitor International with reference to Eurostat.

Deliveries of laptops from the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan increased by 280%, to 67 million euros, compared to the same period in 2021. Exports of smartphones from the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan rose from zero in 2021 to €164 million last year.

Vaidotas Zemlis-Balevichius, head of the data research department at Euromonitor International, believes that most of the goods are transported from the CIS countries to Russia.

In August, Kazakh media wrote that the export of smartphones to Russia in the first half of 2022 increased by 328 times. If in 2021 560 smartphones were imported from Kazakhstan to Russia, then in 2022 their number increased to 183.6 thousand units.

Total exports of goods to Russia from Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan grew by 48% to 20.3 billion euros in 2022.

At the same time, the supply of goods from devices to these countries increased by 95%, and direct exports from the EU to Russia were registered by 71%. [РБК]
