Kaspersky Lab is developing an application marketplace for its own operating system, KasperskyOS. The site will be focused on corporate clients and industrial companies. The first version will be released at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024.

Kaspersky Lab will launch an application marketplace for its own operating system

Kaspersky Lab representatives estimated the amount of investment in the project over two years at approximately $1.5 million, Vedomosti reported.

Any third-party software developer will be able to create applications for the marketplace. At first, it will be possible to develop applications based on Linux, but the applications themselves will only work on KasperskyOS. In the future, developers will have to completely switch to KasperskyOS.

Aprotech’s IoT gateway will be the first to be added to the market. It allows you to combine many sensors and smart devices and collect data from them in a single system.

Kaspersky Lab plans to make money from the application catalog by selling license keys for Kaspersky Security Center.
