Microsoft is likely to introduce an improved version of the Bing search engine with an integrated ChatGPT AI bot in the near future. Screenshots of the updated Bing interface have already surfaced online.
Canadian Twitter user Owen Yin posted a screenshot of the updated Bing interface, which a student said accidentally “appeared in front of him.”

The Verge contacted the lucky person and found that Yin had previously set Bing as the home page in the Microsoft Edge browser. At some point, an updated skin was loaded on the page.
“I didn’t do anything to find it,” Yin said. After a “couple of minutes”, the browser interface returned to normal.
In a short time, the user managed to superficially test the new functions of the search engine. Additionally, according to The Verge, several people have also been able to try out the new Bing features.
Now Bing can not only answer questions, but also ask them conversationally. The “chat” function appeared in the search engine, when selected, ChatGPT becomes available.
When starting a chat, a warning appears: “Bing is powered by artificial intelligence, so surprises and mistakes are possible. Be sure to check the facts and share your feedback so we can learn and improve.”
The system also invites the user to “ask hard questions”, “get better answers” and “get creative inspiration”.

Now when replying, the chatbot can provide links to its sources. AI models like ChatGPT do not yet have this feature, which makes the information they provide less reliable.

Unlike ChatGPT-4, which learns from data collected no later than 2021, Microsoft’s version will have access to up-to-date information. At the same time, the AI bot may not yet know the answer to any question. In such a case, it redirects the user to a normal Bing search.

Earlier this year, news broke that Microsoft plans to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT AI bot capabilities into its search engine. To do this, the corporation intends to invest up to 10,000 million dollars in an artificial intelligence developer.
