The lab is testing different types of homes “to understand how to create zero-energy buildings.” It can be reproduced in the laboratory from -20 to 40 degrees Celsius. In the lab, scientists say they can check the annual weather in a week.
There are already two houses being tested. Despite the cold weather, the two energy-efficient buildings remain cozy and warm thanks to the use of advanced heating and insulation technologies.
