In 2022, citizens of the Russian Federation transferred funds to Armenia in the amount of $3.6 billion, which is four times more than the previous year – $865.6 million, according to the Central Bank of the Republic. The volume of transfers from Armenia to Russia increased by 12.7%.
In December 2022, the Russians sent $422.9 million to Armenia, five times more than in the same period in 2021. At the same time, $60.5 million was transferred from the republic to the Russian Federation, more was sent in March 2022 alone: $61.2 million.
Over the past year, the Armenian economy has shown growth of 13% instead of the expected 7%. According to the Prime Minister of the Republic Nikol Pashinyan, these results were also facilitated by the massive relocation of Russians in the country.
At the end of 2022, the Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan called to do everything so that the Russians working in the country remain in the republic as long as possible.
