Google invests $400M in startup to face ChatGPT

Tech giants are racing to harness the power of productive artificial intelligence in their vehicles. Driven by the convergence of ties between Microsoft and OpenAI, owner of ChatGPT, Google decided to bet on the Anthropic initiative with an investment of $400 million, in addition to announcing its own solution.

None of the companies wanted to formally answer questions on the matter, but the investment is no secret and their representatives commented on the matter in a statement. Thomas Kurian, leader of Google Cloud, said:

The chatbot Anthropic is working on to combat ChatGPT is called Claude, but it’s at an earlier stage of development. In January of this year, the bot was introduced in limited testing and is not yet publicly available. However, the company plans to expand access to Claude “in the coming months.”
