TheSpyHood YouTube channel specialists tested the performance of Core i9 + RTX 3080 10 GB and Core i7 + RTX 3080 12 GB builds in modern games. All games launched with ultra preset at 1440p and 4K.
In Spider-Man Remastered at 1440p, the i9+ RTX 3080 10GB averaged 171fps and the i7+RTX 3080 12GB averaged 178fps. In 4K these figures were 118 fps and 124 fps.
Call of Duty Vanguard ran at 1440p with 114 fps and 120 fps, respectively, at 4K with average performance of 169 fps (i9 and RTX 3080 10 GB) and 174 fps (i7 and RTX 3080 12 GB).
God of War ran at 1440p with an average of 103fps (i9 with RTX 3080 10GB) and 109fps (i7 with RTX 3080 12GB), 4K – 72fps and 79fps.
Battlefield 2042 ran at 1440p with average frame rates of 111fps and 119fps (i9 and i7 versions, respectively). In 4K, these values were 79 fps and 86 fps.
Average FPS at 1440p in Forza Horizon 5 was 125 fps (i9 + RTX 3080 10 GB) and 133 fps (i7 + RTX 3080 12 GB), 4K – 83 fps and 90 fps.
Far Cry 6 ran at 1440p with average performance of 108 fps and 117 fps (i9 + RTX 3080 10 GB and i7 + RTX 3080 12 GB) at 4K – 74 fps and 81 fps.
Village Resident Evil ran at an average of 169 fps and 178 fps at 1440p (with the i9 and i7, respectively), and 118 fps and 126 fps at 4K.
Horizon Zero Dawn ran at 1440p with average FPS of about 125 fps (i9-12900K + RTX 3080 10GB) and 133 fps (i7-12700K + RTX 3080 12GB) at 4K from 81 fps and 88 fps.
Days Gone averaged 139fps (i9, RTX 3080 10GB) and 149fps (i7, RTX 3080 12GB) at 1440p, 90fps and 96fps at 4K.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ran at 1440p with an average of 101 fps (i9 + RTX 3080 10 GB) and 107 fps (i7 + RTX 3080 12 GB) FPS, 67 fps and 74 fps at 4K.
Cyberpunk 2077 ran at 1440p with an average frame rate of 99fps and 106fps (i9 and i7, respectively) and 69fps and 75fps in 4K.
In terms of power consumption, the assembly turned out to be better with the i9 and RTX 3080 10 GB: 583 W against 551 W.
On average, the i7-12700K + RTX 3080 12GB had higher FPS in all games. The difference between this build and the i9-12900K + RTX 3080 10GB at 1440p was 6% (129fps vs 137fps) and 7% (88fps vs 94.5fps) at 4K.
