The “voluntary” contribution of enterprises to the budget, which Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov spoke about earlier, may become mandatory. The government stressed that they are considering both options. The parties, the Ministry of Finance and Business, seek a consolidated position on this issue.
The fact that previously announced as a “voluntary” contribution of companies to the federal budget can be made mandatory, said Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov.
According to him, the Ministry of Finance and business representatives are now developing a consolidated position on this issue. Once this position is reached, it will be decided whether the contribution is mandatory or voluntary.
Sazanov noted that the procedure for calculating the contribution and its size has not yet been determined. But the current taxes will not go up or down, added the deputy director of the Ministry of Finance.
On February 8, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov announced that the government was discussing with companies the possibility of a one-time “voluntary” contribution to the budget. The Ministry of Finance clarified that this contribution will only affect companies that have received excess profits. The purpose of this contribution is to cover the federal budget deficit.
