Serso authorized service center states, “If this is a MacBook or any other Apple computer that the company does not supply to the Russian Federation, it will not be able to be repaired under warranty.” And in Doctor Smart ASC they said that at the moment the service is available only for models that are officially delivered to the territory of Russia.
At the same time, Apple technical support told the publication that no such instructions were received from the company. The technical support specialist explained that Apple computers are covered by a one-year warranty, which does not depend on the region where the device was purchased. It is checked with the serial number and if the warranty is still valid, it should be accepted at the authorized service and repaired.
Rospotrebnadzor noted that according to the law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”, the owner of the device has the right to demand repairs from any authorized organization. Lawyers interviewed by the publication added that in case of rejection by the ASC, this must be documented.
