Unemployment in Russia fell by almost 30% in 2022

At the end of last year, there were 564,000 of them. At the same time, job search time has increased; On average, Russians find suitable vacancies in 4.6 months. In 2021, the citizens of the Russian Federation needed 4.3 months.

“Compared to the beginning of the year, the number of registered unemployed has decreased by 5,000 and stands at 559,000 people,” added the deputy prime minister.

Looking at the situation in individual regions, since March 2022, the unemployment rate has increased in 13 regions. In particular, these are the Altai Territory, the Leningrad Region, St. Petersburg and the Kemerovo Region, as well as the Republic of Khakassia. In 68 regions the number of unemployed decreased, in another four the situation remained the same.

In November 2022, there were 2.7 million unemployed in Russia. Such statistics turned out to be a record and updated the all-time low. At the beginning of February, the total number of unemployed fell to 548 thousand people.
