For example, Generation Z users make up 34% of all iPhone owners in the US, while Samsung smartphones make up only 10%. And this is a noticeable change from previous generations, where there was a relatively even split between Android and iOS.

It’s worth noting that the dominance of the iPhone has implications beyond the smartphone market – iPhone users are more likely to buy MacBooks, Apple Watches and AirPods.

It is reported that the reason for the wholesale purchase of Apple smartphones is that Android devices cannot send texts through the iMessage system. This means that all users’ outgoing messages turn green instead of blue because an Android user is joining an iPhone owners group chat.

And that means the default chat has moved to the SMS standard, not iMessage. According to experts, this fact has begun to lead to social pressure on young Americans to own iPhones.
