WhatsApp* is working on a new feature, the Newsletter, in preparation for its update, writes WABetaInfo. At the same time, the post admits that this is a code name for the development period.

WhatsApp* can add a custom newsletter feature

Whatsapp* version 2.23.5.3 is expected to introduce something similar to subscriptions. According to the post, the tool will become a convenient way to receive useful updates, for example, from officials, sports teams, and other organizations.

At the same time, users will be able to receive personalized mailings with content of their personal interest.

WABetaInfo points out that the scheme by which such shipments will be made cannot be protected by end-to-end encryption. However, the newsletter will reportedly become a separate optional section in the Status tab, which is separate from private chats.

Earlier, WhatsApp* boss Will Cathcart accused one of his main competitors, the messenger Telegram, of leaking user data to third parties. He also claimed that the platform is not secure because it supposedly does not provide end-to-end encryption.
