There is a miniature medical grade blood pressure sensor built into the smart ring. The gadget also has a pulse oximeter. Iris works with an app for which you have to purchase a monthly subscription.
The smart ring also features six photodetectors and an 18-LED photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor. Iris claims the device is significantly more powerful than modern wearables, with an average of two photodetectors and two LEDs. The ring can be used to measure heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature and more. It can also track exercise, sleep quality, and stress levels. Blood pressure measurements are expected to be available through updates by mid-2024.
In addition, the Iris smart ring is positioned as the thinnest ring on the market. The device, which is 5mm wide, 2.5mm thick and weighs less than 5 grams, starts at $146.
