A fire broke out in a factory producing iPhone charging cables in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. While Apple is a major supplier and has 10 iPhone and parts assembly plants in India, this could seriously disrupt global supply.
The fire was so severe that part of the business building collapsed, with no casualties from the public. All 10 production lines were affected, but 4 took the most critical damage. The remaining 6 will only be restored by the end of the week.
At the same time, it is necessary to restore IT systems and servers for the full continuation of work. This will take at least two months.
