Twitter founder Jack Dorsey launches BlueSky microblogging service

TechCrunch writes about the launch of BlueSky. The microblogging service application appeared in the App Store.

BlueSky is almost no different from Twitter. It allows you to post posts with a length of no more than 256 characters, add images.

Jack Dorsey announced BlueSky as an app focused on decentralization. The service operates with the Authenticated Transfer Protocol standard. According to Dorsey, BlueSky’s decentralization removes the ability of the social network’s leadership to arbitrarily block the accounts of certain users.

BlueSky’s audience so far has about 2 thousand users. Access to the social network is by invitation only. The app is only available on iOS.

Jack Dorsey announced the start of BlueSky beta testing a few months after leaving the board of directors of the Twitter company he founded.
