Today (8), Google Doodle, International Women’s Day, to honor the solidarity and support that women all over the world offer each other. The images in each letter of the logo highlight some of the many ways women have come together to advance and improve their lives.

The illustration was created by artist Alyssa Winans, who says she spends a lot of time thinking about all the women who have supported her throughout her life. The doodle represents a tribute and serves as a reminder for everyone to recognize the positive impact women have in our lives. With exhibitions around the world, Doodle reaches a global audience and inspires reflection and recognition.

International Women’s Day

Every year, March 8, International Women’s Day, is celebrated as a date to celebrate the advancement of women in society, politics and the economy, and to address significant inequalities that still persist. The idea for the commemoration originated as a suggestion by German socialist leader Clara Zetkin in 1910 and has been marked by strikes and protests over the years to raise awareness of the ongoing gender inequality.

While much progress has been made in the last decades, there is still much work to be done to achieve gender equality worldwide. Therefore, history is an opportunity to reflect on what has been done so far and commit to continuing the fight for gender equality for all women.
