Russian retailer Lady & Gentleman City will open the first store under the new Just Clothes brand in the Aviapark shopping center. The company registered the domain in November 2022, but it is still inactive.
The exact number of offline stores under the Just Clothes banner is not disclosed. A request to Trade Management went unanswered, Vedomosti reported.
Russian retailers are now trying to fill the niche of foreign brands that have left Russia, such as H&M and Uniqlo, experts are sure.
The Just Clothes range will include quality, affordable clothing for men and women. At the same time, it will position itself as European, three sources said.
Since the end of February 2022, Zara, Bershka, H&M, Uniqlo and several other brands have left the Russian market amid the Russian special operation in Ukraine. In this regard, a significant part of the niche of modern youth clothing, which Russian brands rushed to occupy, has been vacated.
Analysts interviewed by RB.RU predict further expansion of the Russian fashion segment, even if the departed brands return, albeit under a different name. In his opinion, this will not affect the domestic manufacturer much.
