Roskomnadzor began to verify information about a major leak in Sberbank’s SberSpasibo bonus program. Previously, the profile telegram channels published information about millions of lines of sensitive user data entering the network.
The supervisory agency in the field of communications will verify the information published on Telegram channels about the leakage of data from users of the bonus program of Sberbank “SberSpasibo”.
According to the law, an operator who has a leak must report it to Roskomnadzor within 24 hours, but the department did not receive a notification from SberSpasibo about the incident.
Profile Telegram channels reported a major leak in the SberSpasibo bonus program on March 9. According to them, 47.9 million unique phone numbers, 3.3 million email addresses, users’ dates of birth and other sensitive data entered the network.
SberSpasibo also reported on its own verification of the incident. They said such leak reports occur frequently and are often associated with scammers trying to sell collections of old data under the guise that it is unique.
