In this regard, the reserves of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, together with the Russian developer of facial and silhouette recognition algorithms, NtechLab, decided to test this system on bears to control their approach to settlements and to remove animals beforehand without harming them.

To begin with, a large number of bearded videos were uploaded to the system. Based on this data, the neural network will develop an algorithm to recognize the movements, shapes and faces of animals.

The first stage of testing will be held in April 2023 in the village of Pionersky near Yugorsk. The project will include Yugansk Nature Reserve, Malaya Sosva Nature Reserve and Quantorium Children’s Technopark in Nefteyugansk.
