Icon, a global leader in construction 3D printing, is about to embark on a major renovation and expansion project for the El Cosmico Campground Hotel in Marfa, West Texas.
The customer of the project is the owner of the complex, the famous hotelier Liz Lambert. Nestled in the desert, El Cosmico is comprised of over 20 exotic bungalows from around the world – yurts, wigwams, safari tents and caravans. A year later, they were supplemented by advertising holiday houses of an unusual shape with rounded walls and a dome.

In addition, they design buildings with a wide spectrum, vaults, interior partitions, complex walls of parabolic configurations and panoramic windows that open the rooms to the maximum for the expansion of light. The new houses will have everything necessary for life, including various public spaces and pools. Some of the larger bungalows will be designed as bedrooms with views of the surrounding esoteric landscapes.
The buildings will be built using the patented Vulcan industrial 3D printing system, filled with Lavacrete cement-like mixture, which naturally mats through a nozzle, forming the structure of the buildings of the required design.
