The new model uses natural language processing (NLP) approaches. The system analyzes the oncologist’s records after the patient’s initial consultation. The model demonstrated the ability to predict 6-month, 36-month and 60-month survival with over 80% accuracy.
Scientists hope such a tool could be used to personalize and optimize treatment.
