The film “In the sun, along the rows of corn” was released in Russian distribution.
He talks about the fall of Ural Airlines in 2019. This pilot was able to successfully land an aircraft in a cornfield and rescue passengers, which was repeatedly chased in newspapers and on TV.
The novelty was directed by the notorious Sarik Andreasyan, who is responsible for such works of national cinema as “Defenders”, “Chikatilo”, “Robo”, “Earthquake”, “What Men Do” and many others. His filmography, let’s say, is not the best – the expectations from the next pictures were close.
We have already reviewed the novelty and are in a hurry to share our impressions.
This is a disaster movie with almost no disaster itself.
The plot of the pictures is banal and simple. The authors decided to take the path of least resistance, and not fall completely.
What is the movie about: Damir Yusupov could not become a real hero. An ordinary boy, he dreamed of flying and was sure that he would follow in the footsteps of his father, a pilot, but fate decreed otherwise.
Years later, when believers lost even their closest people, Damir nevertheless resolutely realized his cherished dream and became a civil aviation pilot. And only thanks to his courage and devotion to his beloved work, 233 years of life were saved: in August 2019, when both engines failed, he resolutely put him in a cornfield.
Knowing the original history of the Zhukovsky-Simferopol flight is in itself a spoiler for the film. Or rather, to about 15 minutes of the film.
Given such close attention to the incident itself, if we evaluate the part taken by the authors. Another 15 minutes of timing was spent on television inserts. In total, from the total timing of 1.5 hours, we have a little less hours left.
What did you decide to share the attention of the authors with? Microhistory of several passengers who were on that flight. Yusupov himself in an interview already noted that they are just an invention of the authors who do not affect reality in any way. In essence, from the real story, we have only a minimum, which is contained in Wikipedia.
This information was not used at all. Don’t expect revelationsthat have not been said before on TV. There is nothing quite special here.
The passengers themselves do not attract attention, they do not care from beginning to end. For some, even their view of the world has not changed by the end of the work. Half of the performances presented are not needed by the plot at all. This natural heroeswhich only stretch the timing in order to use at least the basic minimum for film distribution.
The story of Yusupov is also presented strangely. Throughout the film, we are shown the preparation for the flight, the childhood and youth of the pilot. True, in the last two cases, no details are disclosed. The authors only repeat the same thing throughout all the flashbacks – “I love airplanes, I will become a pilot.” And he goes to this dream all his life, simply repeating the same thing, feeling only his phrase (but even with the same expenses, well, that’s not the point).
Through all these stories, the filmmakers turn to dramas, but it turns out only a little puff. Why? Yes, because it normally opens up at least for someone, it doesn’t even repeat itself (I’m not talking about all the faces, hourly timing can’t be like that).
As a result, the picture does not turn out either as a drama or as a disaster film.
Everything is bad here
Graphically, the film also failed. The plane in the novelty crashes and burns a little better than in the “Cool Dive” from Pun Magazine.
That’s serious. Minimal investment in visuals. There is no operator work here from the word at all. Feeling captured on an amateur camera, sometimes overdone with the blur of lanterns. The actors do not even try to act out fear and horror, the environment does not include this immersion either.
The only one who more or less achieved his role is Yegor Begoev, who played Damir Yusupov. It is evident that he tried to live the life of his character.
The movie came out fresh and clean. It simply quotes important facts, adding a revolutionary artistic (non-free-free) component, digests it in itself and spits on spectacles.
There is no good graphics, no distinct sound design. Yes, even the costumers, it seems, worked lazily.
But the cornfield looked beautiful. This is probably the only plus of the picture.
A movie that’s not worth wasting your time on.
If you are interested in the history of the poisoning, then it is better to review the documentary footage and interviews with the victims. They will look much more interesting than the new one from Sarik Andreasyan.
This is a one-time movie that is not viewed after any services at all. It’s like he didn’t watch him disappear. Alas, this director failed to make a good film either.
