Researchers at the University of Toronto created a drug development platform called Pharma with Insilico Medicine. Scientists were interested in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (colloquially, liver cancer).

The team used AlphaFold, an artificial intelligence-based program that makes predictions about the spatial structure of a protein. Thus, it was possible to establish a potential cure.

In addition, the platform had a system for estimating the average life expectancy of patients. The model predicted survival at six, 36, and 60 months with over 80% accuracy.
