The plot of the novelty continues to continue the superhero Shazam, who never realized the history of his strength and continues to play pranks, because he is in fact a child.

What is the movie about: 17-year-old Billy Batson, who received the gift of turning into a superhero in his forties, guards the peace of the people of Philadelphia along with his adopted brothers and sisters, with a spin, he shared superpowers.

Due to their youth and discipline, not everything is perfect for them, and pressure empowers superheroes with the “Philadelphia fiasco”. Meanwhile, two women, posing as the daughters of the Titan Atlas, steal a wand broken in half from a Greek museum and head to Philadelphia to take away the magical powers from the superheroes.

As in the essential part, here the protagonist cannot be placed with a superpower gifted to him. He continues to do good deeds, but almost never manages to do it at the level of a serious superhero – often other people are taken from his help.

The whole portrait is based on what is no longer a plot, Bill, but a completely mature landscape, which the girl lacks.

However, in the foreground, the authors still try to put forward precisely the problems associated with a new task to get to know the whole world. The daughters of the titan Atlanta – Hesperus, Calypso and Antey burst in on us. It is they who are basically the antagonists of the paintings, and it is they who not enough screen timeto unlock your potential.

In fact, or more or less normally, only Shazam himself is revealed here, the second film in the MCU is dedicated to.

Other characters fade into the background so much that they failed to write down any intelligible motivation or normal dialogues in general. Billy’s superhero friends are built according to a standard pattern, their conversations are full of links, but it is better to understand them.

For example, the same gamer constantly jokes about the game, and in general the feeling of feeling as if he himself is presenting himself in a computer game, and not in a meeting with the field of view. As a person, he never dares to open it normally.

For cinema caliber excessive simplicity and stupid dialogues don’t play into their hands. They only spoil the overall impression. It’s unclear where James Gunn, who previously announced a full-blown DC movie relaunch, was looking. he decided not to touch this film.

But let’s not take this movie too seriously. It is still aimed at awakening the child in the inner audience. And in this part, the authors, plus or minus, cope, raise precisely teenage topics and pressing problems: growing up, sex education, shaping the future, and so on.

However, this was not enough for such a large-scale work.

But the visual is good.

It can be seen that the creators of the second “Shazam” did not stint on the visual component. novelty looks juicy and sometimes even epic. Especially towards the end.

There are also interesting camera decisions here, for example, during the selection with the dragon. But even this is still not so much in the movie about superheroes, as if. Lack of attraction, to which you simply turn off the normal brain. No, in many moments the created drive slows down sharply and is interrupted suddenly.

It lacks the scale of events. It is not corny, although many scenes scream about it, but … they do not hold out. The emphasis on the side and the case is shifted to the main character, without revealing the potential of other manifestations – and yet they are no less interesting.

But as a passable one-shot superhero action movie, this movie still works. Bad, a stretch, but it works. It is a pity that such a curious hero is relegated to the background in the long run.

One-shot movie that will not go to everyone

“Shazam! Rage of the Gods “could have turned out to be a good superhero film, but the authors decided to mix it up in a whole in a row and did not cope with this task.

Too oversaturated with pictures with themes and characters. There is practically nothing to catch on here, and the jokes are mostly not mixed, but cause a total penetration of the face. Because of some, you really want to shrink into a chair so that you don’t see or hear it anymore.

If you like Shazam so much, then you better reconsider the first part. She’s way better.
