According to display market analyst Ross Young, Apple has purchased more OLED panels for the iPhone 14 Pro Max from LG Display than from Samsung Display. Previously, Samsung had the advantage of supplying OLED panels to Apple, especially for flagship phones like the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, the share of contracts is gradually changing in favor of BOE and LG Display. If this continues, Samsung Display will no longer be the largest supplier of OLED panels for Apple devices.
There is also information that Apple is making the switch to MicroLED displays even in future Apple Watch Ultra models. While there is no reliable information about whether the South Korean firm will receive a contract for this.
