Blinken stated that there are various methods to deal with this threat and it should be eliminated. He made these remarks at a hearing before the Foreign Relations Committee of the US House of Representatives.

It’s worth noting that in early March, the Foreign Investment Committee (CFIUS), led by the Ministry of Finance, issued a notice to TikTok demanding that Chinese owners of the app sell their shares.

In response, ByteDance said that 60% of its shares are owned by global investors, 20% by its employees and 20% by the founders.

Recall that former President Donald Trump also tried to ban TikTok in the USA, but his decision was blocked by American courts. More than 100 million people currently use the popular video app in the United States.
