Researchers followed 560 people ages 70 and older. The authors of the scientific study evaluated their mental abilities every six months for 36 months, and then annually for six years.
It was revealed that the mental abilities of those who experienced postoperative hallucinations and perceptual disturbances during this period regressed 40% faster.
