The American Eli Lilly will transfer the Russian business to the Swiss Swixx Biopharma

According to the publication’s interlocutors, who worked at Eli Lilly’s Russian division, preparations for the business transfer have been ongoing since February. Last month, top managers were replaced in the representative office. Ekaterina Ibragimova, who replaced Irina Zaporozhets, took over as CEO of Lilly Pharma LLC.

Despite the changes, the supply of all the drugs from the US manufacturer to the country will not stop, another source said. Likewise, part of the current team will continue to work in the company together with the new CEO.

The American Eli Lilly stopped investing in the Russian Federation and also canceled new clinical trials in March 2022 as part of the sanctions against Russia. In addition, the manufacturer has suspended the supply of non-essential medicines to the country. The company promised to transfer funds from sales in the Russian Federation to organizations that help Ukraine.

Among the Eli Lilly drugs that have been discontinued in the Russian Federation is Cialis, a drug for erectile dysfunction.

Previously, the American company “Viatris” stopped deliveries to Russia of popular means for increasing potency “Viagra”.
