The State Duma in the spring session will consider an amendment to the law “On the protection of consumer rights.” It will establish the prohibition of debiting money from remote bank cards by the markets.
The reason for the changes were massive complaints from citizens who faced similar actions from online platforms, Izvestia reported.
Rospotrebnadzor believes that such restrictions would improve the user experience and increase the level of customer trust in digital services and the service sector. And the representatives of the markets emphasized that they work in full compliance with the law.
The MPs also intend to force online services to send notifications with reference to the rules of use, where the procedure for canceling a paid subscription must be clearly and clearly stated.
In addition, it is proposed to establish the rule that regardless of the subscription cancellation date, it will be valid until the next periodic payment.
- The Public Council under Rospotrebnadzor has planned new requirements for the markets: the sites intend to oblige sellers to control and verify the authenticity of products.
