Apple suspended production of M2 processors earlier this year, according to The Elec.

TSMC, at the request of Apple, did not release M2 chips in January and the meeting. Production resumed only in March, but its volumes were observed twice as compared to the same period last year.

The stoppage of production affected all modifications of the M2. According to the publication, this is due to a “sharp drop” in Mac sales. M2 chips work in MacBook Air, Pro and Mac mini.

Apple’s Mac revenue increased 30% in the fourth quarter of 2022 to $7.7 billion. Apple earned $10.9 billion from Macs in the same period of 2021.
