Twitter changed its logo on the site from a blue bird to a Dogecoin cryptocurrency mascot. After that, the coin rose 25% in price, from $0.077 to $0.1.
Shiba Inu is displayed on mobile and web versions on page load, as well as in the top left corner. TechCrunch doesn’t rule out that this is a late April Fool’s joke by Twitter owner Elon Musk.
The billionaire did not explain his decision to change the logo, only posting a screenshot of the correspondence on Twitter on March 26, where one of his subscribers asked to change the “bird” to “dog.” Musk wrote: “As promised.”
In June 2022, American Keith Johnson sued Elon Musk for promoting Dogecoin. The plaintiff demanded $258 billion, adding that this cryptocurrency is worthless.
- Musk bought Twitter in the fall of 2022 for $44 billion, but when the businessman offered stock to employees as a reward in March, the bonus was based on a company valuation of $20 billion.
- At the head of Twitter, Musk carried out numerous reforms: from the dismissal of an important part of the team to the development of the concept of Twitter 2.0 and the ideas of creating financial instruments within the social network.
