The government commission approved an experiment on the sale of wine online through the Russian Post. The project is scheduled to be released from November 1 in Moscow and the Moscow region. This was reported to RBC in the government press services and the Ministry of Finance.

The experiment will last until July 31, 2026. During the pilot, the government can expand the territory, for example, there were proposals to include the regions of St. Petersburg, Leningrad and Nizhny Novgorod.

The project will allow online sales of only Russian still, sparkling and fortified wines on the Russian Post website. The Ministry of Agriculture will be responsible for the list of participating producers.

The drinks will be delivered to the address of the recipient or to the post office. Delivery will be possible no earlier than 24 hours after placing the order. The buyer must verify his age.
