Usually the first impression is formed only 27 seconds after meeting a person. A study of 2,000 adults found that 1/3 of respondents made decisions about others in less than 10 seconds.
The best ways to create a positive impression were a friendly smile (51%), manners (43%), eye contact (35%). Arriving on time (29%), being talkative (23%), and dressing stylishly (15%) were also important.
During the study, it was possible to find out that people most often try to make a good impression on others when applying for a job, on a date, meeting their spouse’s parents.
At the same time, we all subconsciously form the first impression of others every day.
Additionally, a study has shown that when meeting new people for the first time, 40% of people are usually nervous and 35% anxious. But only 23% feel calm.
