OnePlus describes the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite as “exuding simple charm,” and in the world of foldable smartphones and $1,500 iPhone models, there are probably a lot of people looking for the exact same phone.

Let’s get back to OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. It looks great in light green and the back is made of anti-fingerprint material with a “ceramic texture” we mean by plastic, just like previous Nord CE models. On the front is a 6.72-inch display with a desirable 120Hz refresh rate but a less desirable 1080p resolution. It also has a DC global dimming feature that controls the backlight to reduce eye strain.

Inside the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, a chip released in late 2021 and an unusual choice for a new phone released in early 2023. It’s a pity that OnePlus didn’t take advantage of its partnership with MediaTek for the Nord CE 3 Lite. The phone has 5G connectivity and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

On the back of the phone is a 108MP camera along with a 2MP depth camera, and OnePlus says the massive main camera offers 3x lossless zoom. It won’t be the same as an optical zoom and will probably still crop the photo like a digital zoom. However, due to the large amount of information that the sensor extracts, the quality will not suffer as much. The selfie camera is a 16-megapixel sensor.

OnePlus is known for its fast charging, and the Nord CE 3 Lite has a 67W SuperVOOC fast charging system for a 5,000mAh battery. The exact charging time has yet to be confirmed, but a similar system is used for the Oppo Reno8 T, where it takes 44 minutes to charge the 4800mAh battery in this phone. Other Nord CE 3 Lite features include various sensors and software features to monitor the phone’s temperature while charging, dual speakers, Android 13-based OxygenOS 13.1 software, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack.

OnePlus launches the Nord CE 3 Lite along with the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 earphones. Equipped with a 12.4mm driver and 25dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), the small earbuds have a battery that lasts up to seven hours without active ANC. Expect 36 hours of full use with the case. The IP55 rating means they can be used in the rain and while exercising.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will cost £299 when it launches on April 20th, which works out to about $370. No US launch expected. The OnePlus Nord Buds 2 will go on sale in the US for $59.
