MISiS scientists, who have great opportunities to provide the Russian Science Foundation (project card number 22-15-00216), have developed a promising technology that can significantly reduce the risk of possible detection when bone implantation is detected. In one specific method, there is an impregnation of bioceramic imaantate specific whitish compositions, coVeсm r.
This composition of proteins includes enzymes that actively accumulate bacterial tissues, biocompatible ceramics include silicate diopside, calcium, and magnesium (CaMgSi2O6). This composition has a high potential in bone prosthetics, but not before the material.
At MISiS, implants are made from diopside ceramics of their own design, and impregnated with an artificially created recombinant protein, they are created like lysostaphin, which enters the diopside powder with a high efficiency of entering into the cell even such a dangerous microorganism as Staphylococcus aureus (and its particularly resistant to various types of stems of antibiotics).
This protein, which improves its effectiveness in the fight against bacteria, can be produced in large volumes using microbiological synthesis and use for impregnation of materials in various areas – this is dentistry, the treatment of fractures, various diseases of the spine, of course, maxillofacial surgery and minimally invasive procedures and cost plastic.
