Nutritionist Richard Ellison has listed five foods to eat for breakfast to lower cholesterol.

  1. Rolled oats. It is high in soluble fiber, which can lower cholesterol levels.

  2. Eggs. But at the same time, don’t eat more than one or two eggs a day, or just eat egg whites instead of whole eggs.

  1. Greek yogurt. It contains a lot of protein and also less fat than regular yogurt. Choose plain or low-fat varieties for breakfast.

  2. whole grain toast. Eat whole grain bread instead of white bread because it contains more fiber and keeps you feeling full for longer.

  3. smoothies. This is a great way to get plenty of nutrients in one meal.
