Nutritionist Richard Ellison has listed five foods to eat for breakfast to lower cholesterol.
-
Rolled oats. It is high in soluble fiber, which can lower cholesterol levels.
-
Eggs. But at the same time, don’t eat more than one or two eggs a day, or just eat egg whites instead of whole eggs.
-
Greek yogurt. It contains a lot of protein and also less fat than regular yogurt. Choose plain or low-fat varieties for breakfast.
-
whole grain toast. Eat whole grain bread instead of white bread because it contains more fiber and keeps you feeling full for longer.
-
smoothies. This is a great way to get plenty of nutrients in one meal.
