The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation has opened a case against the airline Aeroflot for misleading advertising, the antitrust regulator said in a statement.

FAS opened a case against Aeroflot for misleading advertising about free transport of skis

The Federal Antimonopoly Service notes that Aeroflot placed an ad in the in-flight magazine stating that the company carries ski or snowboard equipment free of charge for ticket buyers on its flights.

Meanwhile, the passenger who applied to the FAS handed over checks and said he had to pay double the cost of transporting the specified equipment.

If the department establishes Aeroflot’s guilt, then the airline faces liability under the law on advertising.
