Russia will continue to operate its segment of the International Space Station until 2028, the government has decided.
A proposal to extend the use of the ISS was made by Roskosmos on April 6, whose head, Yuri Borisov, reported in July 2022 at a meeting with Putin that Russia would withdraw from the ISS project after 2024.
Roscosmos previously stated that the company’s priority would be the development of the Russian orbital station. The corporation estimates its creation at about 600 billion rubles.
The design of the Russian orbital station was shown for the first time in August 2022.
