Gelsinger reportedly met with Han Zheng, Vice President of China, who emphasized that international companies need to overcome challenges and achieve more effective global cooperation. Chinese officials expressed their readiness to provide new opportunities for international companies to do business in the country.

It was also reported that Intel CEO met with Commerce Minister Wang Wentao to discuss the stability and reliability of the supply of semiconductor components.

Time will tell if the company will listen to the advice of the Chinese. But, at least in the US, this idea will certainly not be approved, given China’s attempts to limit its technological development.
