The report states that production workers are ahead both in terms of demand and wages: Industrial organizations offer salaries of over 200,000 rubles for 1.9 thousand open positions on the Jobs portal in Russia. This is 10x more than similar offers for IT professionals.

The report also states that industry organizations tend to offer more comprehensive benefits packages to their employees, making them more attractive to workers.

The three most in-demand occupations in the industry included manufacturing and agricultural equipment, moulders, welders, cylinder operators as well as tool makers, machine operators and adjusters.

The top three of the most popular occupations included workers in the food, woodworking, textile and clothing industries, as well as mobile equipment operators.

Experts suggest that this trend is due to the fact that the manufacturing sector continues to be a driver of employment against the backdrop of import substitution.
