The Ultimate model, unlike the conventional model, has an AeroActive system that allows air to pass directly to the smartphone for cooling. The back of the device also features a ROG Vision display.
Overall, gaming performance has been significantly improved on new smartphones. GameCool7’s cooling system is now bigger and better. The company claims that the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate barely gets hot even after an hour of overuse. ROG Phone 7 also supports ray tracing in certain games.
The smartphones feature a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED display with a resolution of 2448×1080 pixels, which is 1500 nits brighter than its predecessor. The panel supports variable refresh rates up to 165 Hz. Like the previous generation ROG phones, the new models pack a 6,000mAh battery with 65W charging (divided into two equal 3,000mAh sections for better cooling). As for the camera, ASUS basically kept the same set: 50 MP + 13 MP + 5 MP.
The ROG Phone 7 series is available for pre-order in Europe and Taiwan through the ASUS online store and retail partners. Prices start at €999 for the standard model and €1,399 for the cooled ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
