Despite his position as an apprentice in cyber transport systems, he first deciphered documents by hand and then published photographs of the classified materials himself.

The leak contained a wealth of information about Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, including detailed battle conditions and maps of missile strikes. The documents also revealed how the US spied on its foreign allies.

Although the information in the leaked documents was confidential, Teixeire was not an informant. He allegedly shared the documents on a small Discord server and had no intention of distributing them outside the group. However, they ended up on other Discord servers and then on Telegram channels and other social networks.

Discord previously said it was collaborating with authorities to investigate the leak.
