Musk, who has criticized artificial intelligence in the past. He left OpenAI (the developer of ChatGPT) nearly a decade ago and recently signed a petition in favor of limiting AI learning. But the WSJ writes that it is now developing “truth-seeking” artificial intelligence models.

The new Nevada-listed company lists Musk as the sole director and Jared Bearhall, the manager of Musk’s family office, as the secretary.

The company’s plans are not yet clear, but Musk is said to have recruited two former DeepMind researchers in March with scientist Igor Babushkin, who is believed to lead the new project.

Musk is also reportedly in talks with investors at his other companies, Tesla and SpaceX, to invest in X.AI Corp.
