The iPhone 17 will have a screen that will be protected by new glass, reports Chinese insider Instant Digital.
The new glass will be stronger than the Ceramic Shield used in the iPhone 12. The glass in the iPhone 17 will also be more scratch-resistant and have an “ultra-hard anti-reflective layer.”
What kind of glass the iPhone 17 will receive is not reported. Ceramic Shield is a joint development between Corning and Apple.
In addition, Corning has Gorilla Glass Armor, which is used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Gorilla Glass Armor is touted as the best anti-reflective glass that is 4 times more scratch resistant than other safety glasses.
