According to our colleagues at 9to5Mac, security researchers from MalwareHunterTeam have discovered traces of an enhancement by a hacker group designed to compromise macOS devices.

It is worth noting that the software of this group was used for the first time against Apple computers.

Recall that earlier LockBit was mainly seen in attacks against Windows, Linux and virtual hosts. This is because these operating systems are used in business, which is the group’s main target.

Interestingly, LockBit itself is in the business of offering ransomware as a service. The group develops and maintains malware that its partners pay for use.
