The leaders of IT companies and Russoft, the Association of Software Developers (ARPP) agreed, after a meeting at the Ministry of Digital Development, to create a document regulating the pricing policy for Russian products. It will be prepared within a month, Forbes learned.
Companies will have to undertake not to raise software prices above a reasonable level and publish updated information about its marginal cost, including on the official Russian software market russoft.ru.
The meeting participants also agreed that in case of complaints about an unreasonable increase in software prices, the company’s accreditation may be suspended for the duration of the audit.
- Since March 2022, Russian software prices have increased by 30-50%. Users attribute the trend to a lack of competition in the market, which Western providers have left behind. The developers partly recognized the price increase, but more moderate – by 10-15%.
