The Russian dealer Avtodom bought the local Mercedes-Benz business. The company became the sole owner of two legal entities. The deal also included a car manufacturer’s plant in the Moscow region with a production capacity of up to 30,000 vehicles per year.
Two legal entities of the German automaker Mercedes-Benz in Russia have changed ownership. Interfax drew attention to changes in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
The Russian distribution company Avtodom became the sole owner of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Rus and Mercedes-Benz Capital Rus. The holding’s press service explained that the deal is at the closing stage.
The Mercedes-Benz plant in Esipovo near Moscow, with the capacity to produce up to 30,000 cars a year, also became the property of Avtodom. It was launched in 2019, the investment was estimated at 15 billion rubles.
Mercedes-Benz’s plans to sell its Russian business first became known in August 2022. The automaker estimated its losses from the cutoff of supplies to Russia at 1.4 billion euros.
