Sberbank shareholders voted to pay record dividends in the bank’s history by 2022. For this, the bank will allocate 565 billion rubles. This is twice the organization’s net profit last year.
Shareholders approved the payment of dividends in the amount of 25 rubles per share.
“The general assembly voted in favor of the decision to pay higher dividends,” Finance Minister Anton Siluanov was quoted as saying by Interfax.
In March, the credit institution reported on its financial performance under IFRS. Net profit in 2022 decreased by 4.5 times, reaching only 270.5 billion rubles against 1.24 trillion rubles in 2021.
At the same time, the bank’s supervisory board recommended paying dividends in the amount of 25 rubles per share.
Previously, the financial statements were published by VTB, losses under RAS amounted to 760 billion rubles, according to IFRS – 613 billion rubles. The bank will advise investors not to expect large dividends even at the end of 2023.
